Following our award recognitions from Deloitte Technology Fast 50™ and PwC Vision To Reality, we’re happy to announce that Wajam won three awards at the Best in Biz Awards 2013, an independent business awards program judged by industry analysts and members of the press.

We were recognized in three categories: Gold for Technology Department of the Year, Silver for Video of the Year and Bronze for Technology Executive of the Year.

Wajam CTO Andre-Philippe Paquet Best in Biz 2013

Team Excellence

Our CTO Andre-Philippe Paquet won Bronze for Technology Executive of the Year. It’s the second award this year for André-Philippe after winning bronze at the Golden Bridge Awards in San Francisco earlier last month. He’s the architect behind our social search innovations, and has been a leading example for our team as it grew from 10 to almost 50 employees in the past two years.

A few words on André-Philippe from Félix-Étienne Trépanier, backend lead developer:

“André-Philippe is not only an exceptional software engineer but also a visionary. With Wajam, we are pushing the limits of distributed systems, search and data analytics and Andre-Philippe is the one drawing the map. He is always three steps ahead of everyone and make sure that the massive infrastructure behind Wajam is scalable and cutting edge. With his combination of strong engineering skills, vision and leadership, Andre-Philippe is an exceptional CTO. It is an honor to work with him.”

From the Judging Panel

“The winners were selected based on the companies with the boldest, most innovative ideas,” said Brian Bandell, senior reporter at South Florida Business Journal, who returned to the Best in Biz Awards judging panel for the second time. “Many companies rely on copying the inventions of others or releasing minor tweaks of products that were revolutionary years ago, but these companies are truly breaking new ground.”

From Wajam CEO Martin-Luc Archambault

“We are thrilled to end this business year being honored by the industry for our hard work,” said Wajam CEO Martin-Luc Archambault. “What makes the Best in Biz Awards so meaningful is that it was judged by leading press and industry analysts who critically evaluate and research innovation everyday. Our Silver award for best video shows off the dynamic team culture that has propelled us to where we are now. Our focus for 2014 will be to continue developing better ways to deliver a more personal search experience both on the web and mobile so people can take their friend recommendations with them everywhere on multiple devices. They won’t need to hunt for what their friends think, they will be able to access this information seamlessly!”
